Week 1 Recap!

Sep 24, 2025

The NA3HL season is upon us, and the New Hampshire Mountain Kings NA3 team is back in action with a strong start, coming out of their first four games. I’m Alex Posani, and here’s a recap of the past week with the NA3 Mountain Kings.

The Mountain Kings kicked off their third season with a 12:00pm game last Wednesday against the Maine Nordiques. Maine, in their second season at the NA3 level, controlled the first period, but faltered and the Mountain Kings won with a commanding 5-1 score.

Anthony Ayala, an original Mountain Kings Academy player, made the most of his NA3HL debut, scoring two goals in the game against Maine. Some other veterans make up this NA3 team, including Jacob Landry, who started his second year with the Mountain Kings in a great way; scoring a goal in the third period. Also scoring in the opening game was Nick Brophy, who played last season with the Northeast Generals.

On Friday, the Mountain Kings did battle with the team that eliminated them from the Fraser Cup Playoffs last season, the Binghampton Buzz. Talon Schackman led the scoring, netting himself two goals, as the Mountain Kings won 4 to 2, moving to 2 and 0 on the season.

Saturday, the Mountain Kings dropped a close game to the Buzz, losing 3-2 in the shootout. Despite the loss, there was reason to celebrate in this one, as Gabe Williams, a former Mountain Kings 18U player, scored his first NA3HL goal. Also scoring on Saturday was returning forward Noah Levesque, who’s started off right, with two points in three games.

Wednesday, the Mountain Kings faced off against their familiar foes from Connecticut, the Norwich Sea Captains. The Mountain Kings offense, which was firing on all cylinders, exploded for a 8-3 win. Jacob Landry played the part of hero on Wednesday, with two goals and three assists.

The Mountain Kings move on to 3-0-1 on the young season. The next game is next Wednesday, October 1st, against the Maine Nordiques. Puck drop is at 12:00pm. We will see you there!
